Agri-Food Cluster of Navarre, NAGRIFOOD, grow with five new companies

The Agri-Food Cluster of Navarre, known as NAGRIFOOD, has experienced significant growth with the addition of five new companies, reaching a total of 102 members. This milestone was announced during its General Assembly, held at the Museo de la Conserva in San Adrián. The event was sponsored by Caja Rural de Navarra and attended by prominent political and business figures, including the President of Navarre, María Chivite. Santiago Sala, president of NAGRIFOOD, emphasized the importance of collaborative strategies and joint leadership as effective responses to the uncertainty facing the sector. He stated that the organization has become one of Europe’s leading agri-food platforms. Sala also highlighted the critical role of innovation and cooperation in overcoming challenges, positioning NAGRIFOOD as a key player in the agri-food value chain across the continent.

Water Management: The Main Challenge for the Agri-Food Sector, According to María Chivite

During the General Assembly of the Agri-Food Cluster of Navarre, María Chivite highlighted efficient water management as the greatest current challenge for the agri-food sector. The regional president underlined the strong relationship between Navarre and its agri-food industry, pointing out innovation, adaptability, and responsibility as essential pillars for navigating the current climate of inflation and drought. Chivite stressed the importance of research, development, and innovation, praising the sector’s commitment to transformation and adaptation. She also called for responsible consumption and management of water and promised ongoing public support to optimize and improve the efficiency of water resources—an issue she described as critical for the sustainable future of the sector.

Keys to Competitive Growth in Uncertain Times

In a context marked by price volatility and economic uncertainty, César Valencoso, Director of Consumer Insights at Kantar Worldpanel, shared strategies to maintain competitiveness and profitability in the agri-food sector. His talk, focused on how to continue growing competitively, emphasized that ongoing innovation is the only viable path to competitiveness. Additionally, a roundtable featuring representatives from various companies in the sector, including Conservas El Navarrico and Quesos La Vasco Navarra, explored alternatives for achieving profitable growth. The panel identified customer loyalty and close collaboration with clients as key aspects for overcoming current economic challenges.
