A Tribute to Amalia Herce for International Women’s Day

We are highlighting one of our founders, a symbol of hard work and commitment to quality, in an initiative that honors the role of women in the agri-food industry.

In every El Navarrico preserve, there’s a story of effort and a passion for doing things well. And this March 8th, the brand wishes to pay tribute to one of the key figures in its history: Amalia Herce, co-founder of the company and grandmother of those who continue her legacy today.

In celebration of International Women’s Day, we’ve launched a special edition for the women working at our cannery. It’s a symbolic gesture through which we aim to recognize their fundamental role in the company’s founding and highlight the work of so many women who, with their effort and vision, shape the agri-food industry.

The legacy of Amalia Herce: hard work, quality, and a love for the product

The story of El Navarrico cannot be understood without Amalia Herce. From the beginning, her tireless work, commitment to quality, and respect for tradition have been core values of our company’s philosophy.

During a time when the agri-food sector was largely male-dominated, Amalia forged her path with determination, opting for a business model focused on meticulous attention to detail. For her, it wasn’t just about preserving the finest local produce, but doing so with the same care and dedication found in Navarrese homes for generations.

Her approach to work remains the essence of El Navarrico today: respect for the land, a commitment to excellence, and love for the product. That’s why, this March 8th, her name will be featured on one of our signature products, Cardoon Hearts, symbolizing her legacy and that of all the women who have built and continue to build this industry.

Beyond the label: a campaign to give visibility

This initiative goes beyond commemorative labels. In the days before and after March 8th, we will share social media content featuring images and testimonies from those who worked alongside Amalia Herce, spotlighting her contributions and vision.

“We want this recognition to be more than just a gesture; it should serve to highlight all the women who, like Amalia, have built this sector through their hard work and dedication,” say representatives from El Navarrico. “Her story reflects that of many women who have worked in silence but whose impact is undeniable.”

A commitment to history and the future

This initiative not only honors the past but also reinforces our commitment to the present and future of the industry and the women within it. It’s crucial to continue raising awareness of the role women play in the agri-food sector and to support their presence in every area, from production to management and innovation.
